About Opera Loki

Opera Loki became a registered charity and was established by Jane Gray and Fred Broom in 2001 to bring opera in English to regional communities in order to promote the appreciation of and education in opera. Opera Loki patrons Carolyn and Peter Bear have hosted Opera Loki at their beautiful home in France since 2001 and since 2010 Opera Loki also performs at other venues in France and the UK. Opera Loki has produced a succession of vibrant and popular productions of Mozart, Verdi, Bizet and Rossini opera over the last decade. Our cast members, stage managers, musical directors and directors have moved on to work at the Royal Opera House, Glyndebourne, ENO, WNO and English Touring Opera. Our past cast have joined the Jette Parker Young Artists’ Programme at the Royal Opera House and even won the prestigious Kathleen Ferrier Award.
